One of my favorite and most visited lunch spots. I mainly come because of the food taste and quality, but I also love their large menu that also has a very large vegan section. I myself am not vegan but eat with others who are so it’s nice that we can both find something that we enjoy. Service is always really fast and the portion sizes are really large, but not too large. It’s very small on the inside so we usually eat at one of the tables outside, otherwise your best bet will be eating at the counter inside. They have a small parking lot attached but it’s $5 to park, however it’s easy to find metered street parking right out front or free street parking in the neighborhood west of Tu Madre.

I usually order the Carne Asada bowl with half rice and half crispy kale because it’s my favorite of the options but today I tried the Crispy Fish Bowl and loved it as well. The crispy kale is such a great addition and pouring their homemade salsa on top is a great finish. I have also tried their guacamole and love that as well.

Overall a great taco and bowl spot with an extensive regular and vegan menu. I plan to be back many times in the future.

The flavor profiles of each dish are unique and genuinely delicious, but it's SO expensive. The portion sizes are incredibly small for the price charged, which raised since the last menu posted here.

This place really does have some of the best burritos. They are large enough that you can have half for one meal and half for another. NOTE - that previous line relates to the size they use to be. This is no longer the case. The burritos are now significantly smaller, about half the size they were. They are small enough that I was able to finish the entire burrito whereas before, I would cut it in half and it would be two meals. Seems like another case of shrinkflation as prices have remained the same. If there was a rating for value, this would now be 1 star!

For 3 tacos, it was around $6.80. Basically $2 per street taco. The rotisserie chicken one was good, like 8/10, the kbbq one was far too salty and I couldn’t eat the meat, 4/10. Overall for the price, it’s not a bad deal. The saltiness definitely needs tweaking.

I wanted to like this restaurant. I really did. But the facts on the ground and my experience there just don't add up when I went there. First off, they got my food order completely wrong. I ordered a shrimp burrito, but they made a fish burrito instead. When it was brought out to our table, I told the server that I ordered shrimp, not fish. The server just froze up like a deer-in-headlights, and didn't say anything or offer to fix it/re-do it or anything. After an awkward pause, I just threw my arms up and said I can eat fish, even though it's not what I ordered (also we were on a time crunch for lunch, so that had me give in instead of requesting them to fix my order that they got wrong). The server lady just plopped the tray on our table and walked away, without a care in the world. Not a great start.
As we were eating, I requested some hot sauce or any kind of salsa. The somewhat unresponsive server lady said she brought out their "spiciest" sauce they had, which was some sort of avocado sauce. I used it on my burrito, and it was decent, but absolutely not spicy. It was apparent to me after this, that this staff member did not seem to know much about the restaurant she was working at, and my dining experience was going further into total disappointment. TL;DR I'm definitely not coming back here, it was very disappointing. The service for me on that day was unintentionally awful, food was decent, but that's if you actually get what you ordered, because I sure as heck didn't.

Small but cute place serving quality food despite how busy their small (but nice) staff are!

My bf routinely orders their bfast burrito (to a fault, almost every other week…) but this was my 1st time going in person. Love the fresh tortillas & overall vibe!

Pictured are chicken taco & crispy fish (cauliflower taco unfortunately did not make it to the photo before being eaten)

The staff was friendly. The portions are generous. The flavor was lacking for me. The burrito was the thing I was the most excited for and for $20 it definitely fell short. It was also a lukewarm temp. Maybe it was a bad day for them but I wouldn’t rave about the food. Not bad, but not great ?
