My hair is permanently altered by heat damage due to improper styling and a lack of communication. I went in to get my hair styled for an event. I was hoping to get an old school Hollywood curls, I paid $180 + tip for the service. I had the female stylist. I have long, thin, flat virgin hair that has taken me years to grow out. The stylist doused my hair with hairspray and only used protectant spray once. She teased my hair then curled it on a high temperature repetitively within the same sections. 2/3rds of the way through the appointment, she admitted she could not do the style I was looking for. I would have changed course if she had been honest upfront that my hair could not handle the style. I left the salon very disappointed however I did pay the full amount for the service. The next day I could not get the smell of burnt chemicals out of my hair and there was clumps of hair washing in the drain. I went back to the salon and was met with a defensive stylist. She wouldn't even look at my hair, without a fee. I was yelled at, and told it’s my fault that my hair is damaged. She continued to explain I could have walked into something, or washed it with something she doesn't recommend. This is a good point but I use the products they have in the salon or from the same product line. She sprayed the hair spray in my face to show me that's not what her hairspray smells like, she spritz her hair with hairspray and then used a curling iron on her ends and flings it in my face. Ultimately, the male stylist took me back and washed my hair free of charge. They both tried to tell me it's normal to lose clumps of hair in the shower, I've washed my hair for decades and I can confirm that amount isn’t normal. My hair is left in a state where it smells like burnt hair when wet. I went to another hair salon and it has been confirmed it was heat damage. I don't own any styling tools not even a Hair dryer. If you want to keep your hair healthy go somewhere else, this salon will not any responsibility of the damage that they have causes. Highly disappointed this was one of the few places I trusted.

I found this salon after trying several in the area after moving to Bay Ridge over a year ago. I've been coming here for about six months now and cannot be more pleased. I have short (BOB CUT), fine hair and as I age (50's) my hair has taken on a life of its own.
Renee is truly a master barber and immediately (within 2 visits) transformed the shape of my hair, improved growth and the overall texture and health of my hair.

She listens, advises and remembers what YOU, the client wants. She is professional and passionate about what she does and takes pride in her work. I feel so lucky and fortunate to have found her and her team! Her assistant (I need to ask her name) who washes hair is simply amazing - her technique and style of massage is unique and unlike any head massage I've ever had.
I look forward to many more years of supporting Renee and her team!

I would highly recommend this salon, they are super professional, and I appreciate Rene being super honest about the price, and providing feedback on what would be best for my skin tone, color to enhance my appearance, rather than wash me out. I have previously went to another salon, and they lightened my roots (which I did not want), I wanted a softer look, and the highlights were very grey, platinum blonde, which I wanted a warmer note (caramel), Rene was able to see what was going on, and immediately pulling out swatches and pictures to show me what she meant. I appreciate the attention to detail, and listening to what I had in mind, and her assistant did a phenomenal job washing my hair (smells, and feels soft). Thank you.

I am not sure how this salon stays in business. Renee is disrespectful, arrogant, dismissive. I used to come to her every 2 months for single process. She would charge me 200$ each time. Which I consider overpriced. She also told me that now since I went red, I cant go back to brown. I stopped coming.
I came in today looking for adding style to a cut I had a week ago at another salon. And she was going to charge me 90$ as compared to 30$ she’d charged me in the past. When I brought it up, she said I’d always complained about the cost and thats why she used to charge me low. I find this is a big disparity between 30$ and 90$. She was also quite condescending in her manner of speaking to a person. I left. Will not go back.

René did such a wonderful job on my hair and walked me through the process which I truly enjoyed. Her salon is absolutely spotless and such a comforting place to get your hair done and just relax! Her and Eddie taking such good care of your hair and take their time doing their best work. Her prices are great as well! She does such quality work, I truly cannot wait to go back!

Gem of a salon in the neighborhood- it is sparkling clean, comfortable and Renee and her staff are welcoming, professional and attentive. Got the best scalp massage and appreciated the time Renee took to consult and share her ideas for my face shape, personal style and hair texture. She fixed a horrible hair cut I got somewhere else- it looks fabulous and feels SO much better. Thank you Renee- would highly recommend her and the salon to anyone who values quality, experience and professionalism (and stylish haircuts!)

I love Rene and her team! I found this lovely salon through my sister, and I'm so happy to have found a permanent place in the neighborhood! Rene really takes the time to listen to what you want, and is so masterful with texture, and making sure your hair flatters your face. Today she helped me chop off about 6-7 inches of hair, and I left with a bouncy, layered, and textured bob that I LOVE! Thank you so much, Rene! And also a thank you to her wonderful assistant who gave me an incredible scalp massage. I felt like I was at a spa retreat 🙂

Rene is very knowledgeable and professional. I like that she took her time and listened how I want my haircut and color. Everyone else are so friendly and nice. Salon is super clean and I would definitely will go back. I would say Rene is the best and #1 hair dresser in Bay Ridge!
